Very seldom can we offer a true "one of a kind" item. This is what those in the print shop at Gore Graphics called a "make-ready" or "set-up" one sheet. They took whatever paper was lying around (in this case it was a proof for "THE GREATEST") and ran it through the press upside down for the poster they were getting ready to print ("VIVA KNIEVEL!"). It is a double sided poster featuring an Advance one sheet for "THE GREATEST" and a two color proof for "VIVA KNIEVEL!" You will not find another one of these for sale anywhere.....ever! This is an incredible piece of movie poster history saved from the trash over 30 years ago! Straight from a former employee who used to work at Gore Graphics in the 1970's. Gore Graphics printed many of the posters for the National Screen Service. We have a few other proofs from this source, and like this one, some of them are one of a kind! About Printer's Proofs: Before a poster was printed in large quantities, the printer would print a limited number of test posters. Commonly, they would leave the color chart on the left edge of the poster, which added an extra inch to the width of the poster (which explains why the poster measures 28" x 41"). These would then be shown to people in a position to "OK" them. Once they were approved, the final posters would be printed and the proofs normally were destroyed. A printer's proof is far more rare than a regular one sheet poster, and there is no fear of purchasing a reproduction.
